This is a Pub as it should be, in the bar it even smells like a real pub should!! The people of Amersham don't know what they are missing if they don't call this their local. From walking in the door we felt really at home, Rob is a fabulous landlord and his staff are super. Everyone is so friendly and helpful (beyond the call of duty!). We were given a downstairs room as we had the 2 dogs with us, it looked out onto the beer garden at the back and was very spaceous and comfortable. The beds are really comfortable and the bathroom modern with a large shower area. The beer garden is not very busy and after 9pm it was very quiet back there. We probably had the best sleep of the holiday here. The pub itself serves food at lunchtime only but there are plenty of evening restaurants nearby, we went to the Indian round the corner which is out of this world. Breakfast and lunch are very good and there seems to be an endless choice of drinks available. Rob and his team are doggie friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I can really recommend this as a wonderful base for anyone visiting the area. There is a bus stop in front of the pub which links to the trains for London, etc. and the Tesco Extra a 5 minute walk away. If you are visiting Amersham forget the other Hotels! This is definitely the place to stay.

Amersham is a lovely little village.............the hotel is in a good location within walking distance of most shops and restaurants............the hotel serves up a great inclusive full English with toast etc..................they do lunch , but not dinner, but there are many pubs and restaurants nearby........adequate heating in the room, so we were not cold in Feb...............dog friendly at no extra charge............we ate dinner at the Griffin, which is a muddy stiletto awarded restaurant, and had outstanding food and is was 5 mins walk from the hotel....the pub is an olde world pub, and was very charming, with friendly bar staff and customers

The location was very close to my workplace, which was amazing. The staff are really good and kind. However, the highlight was the breakfast and the gentleman in charge. He creates such an amazing environment that you fully enjoy your breakfast. He always welcomes you with a smile, accompanied by beautiful classical music, which makes your day unforgettable.

The location of the Inn and the friendly staff. So kind of Rob for helping us with phone calls and letting my relatives use his phone to contact me. I had Cell phone issues. The Inn had a local feel to it and provided walkable and enjoyable outings. Especially the Memorial Gardens across the street. The breakfasts were large and we enjoyed the traditional English fry up! There are also some nice restaurants near by within walking distance. The courtyard is cute and it was nice to sit out there for a bit when the weather was good.

Located in Amersham's Old Town, the Saracens Inn exudes old-world charm, with its rustic decor and exposed beams creating an inviting ambiance into the pub. Our room boasted a large and incredibly comfortable four-poster bed. The staff were helpful and friendly, explaining us the quirks of the vintage toilet mechanism (no, it's not broken!) Additionally, full English breakfast prepared by the staff was a delicious treat, setting us up for the day ahead. Excellent location to visit old Amersham and hike in the Chilterns.

Firstly, the location is great. Right in the centre of the old town. Full of beautiful, old, charming buildings. The Saracens Head Inn is a wonderful, traditionally British pub, complete with low beam ceilings and classic British pub bar, stools, chairs. We haven't been back to the UK for more than 5 years and we absolutely loved staying in an old Inn, reminiscent of growing up in rural Gloucestershire. The actual pub area brought back memories of working in a pub a few decades ago, cleaning the brass, washing glasses, clearing the beer drip trays. Love that smell. Full of friendly locals having a pint and chatting about their day with staff who were engaging and happy. The room we were in was very spacious, lots of space for a good size double bed, a couple of comfy chairs, full length mirror, place to hand your towel, wardrobe. Coffee machine as well as a kettle. Good size teacups, plenty of supplies and absolutely delicious biscuits. Everything thoughtfully put together.Good size showerroom with full body size towels and complimentary toiletries. We were very late to breakfast, and realised we've probably missed it. However, the chef made us a delicious bacon and sausage sandwich and plenty of tea, coffee and orange juice. Very grateful he still made sure we had a good breakfast. I forgot to ask his name, but he was very friendly, helpful and clearly a hard worker.

Quaint historic pub built 1530. Very authentic place with flowers everywhere and outdoor seating. We stayed in a twin courtyard room no. 3 which had an ensuite shower, TV, tea, coffee, biscuits and free toiletries. Comfortable beds and plenty of sockets. The full English breakfast was included in the room rate. The bar/ reception staff were lovely and Mario cooked us a perfect breakfast.

A lovely and quaint Inn. The pub was small and cosy, great choice of lagers on tap! Bed was comfortable and the place had a lot of history to it. Our room was on a slant due to how hold the infrastructure of the building is, which I thought was amusing and added a lot of character! Breakfast was also great and staff were friendly and welcoming.

The location was within all local attractions. I read some reviews before booking with such remarks as there was no vegetarian breakfast and heating not working. Well, I had a vegetarian breakfast with no complaints. It was just the best. The heater in my room was self regulated and no problem. It’s an historical hotel with an interesting history.
